New Features on MWSA Website!!

Now, a reveal of the cool new features on the MWSA website. We are still working on the site, but we have added some requested features.

Social Networking

Facebook "Share" and Twitter "Tweet this!" buttons now appear with most content. The Tweet icon only appears when you read an article, while Facebook is available on the front page. We want you to share posts on the MWSA site with other people. However, you cannot share "members-only" links. If you don't see the "Share" or "Tweet" icons, that's on purpose.

Under the "My Account" information, you can add a Twitter feed. Click "Twitter" and add an "Authorized Account" to have your tweets added to the MWSA website.

Calendar

Yes, there is now a shared calendar. To add your personal events, click the "Add Content" menu and select "Member Event." Please include some details about the event, not merely the date and place. What is the event? The more information you include, the more useful the calendar will be for other members.

When you post an event, it is promoted to the front page of the website!

More Blog Features

Every member now has a "blog" on the MWSA website. Use the "Add content" menu to post a "Blog entry" to the MWSA site. Blogs are ideal for breaking news. After you post a blog, you can share it to social networks.

Blog and Article Editor Features

Spellcheck. There was a huge demand for this. In the text editor, you can click the "ABC checkmark" icon to check your spelling. Members really wanted this feature, so now you have it.

Insert media (images or more). Click the icon that looks like a photo of mountains. The "Mountian photos" button will allow you to add media links from other websites or to upload images. If you upload an image, name the file something meaningful. We cannot sort through thousands of images with names like "photo00234.jpg." Instead, name the image something all members will understand. Plus, the search feature is useless unless you name the image well.

You can reformat an image, once inserted, using the format photo icon. That is the "Tree photo" icon button. There are a lot of settings that will control where an image appears on the page.

Thank you,

C. S. Wyatt
