2015 MWSA Anthology: Call for Entries

2015 MWSA Anthology: Call for Entries

[Please do not respond to this email as it will go to an untended mailbox.]

It’s that time of year when we announce our annual MWSA anthology!

Each year MWSA publishes a book of articles, short stories, essays, illustrations, and photographs to showcase the amazing members of the Military Writers Society of America. In addition to member entries, the book contains the MWSA review and jacket design of each book nominated for an award in the current award cycle.

Members in good standing are encouraged to send original work, not to exceed 1200 words, in a text document along with a high resolution jpeg head shot photograph and a biography of 250 words. The theme this year is “Hope and Courage,” and entries should reflect that theme.

DEADLINE for submissions is Sunday, May 31, 2015. Send your entry to Betsy Beard at eabeard@nc.rr.com. Don’t wait until the last minute. Start writing now!

Benefits:

  • This is your opportunity to be heard. Share something about yourself or send us a work of fiction.

  • Further the MWSA’s three part mission of writing for healing, preservation of history, and education.

  • Be published. The anthology is open to all who are members, so if you have been thinking about renewing your membership, now is the time to do it.

  • Earn buckaroo bucks. Each participant will be awarded 1,000 buckaroo bucks to spend at the Buckaroo Auction during the MWSA annual conference in September.

  • Use your personal copy as a yearbook and get the signatures of your fellow MWSA members during the conference. The MWSA anthology is a wonderful keepsake and is included in the registration fees for all members who attend the annual conference. Those who are not able to attend the conference can purchase the book after publication.

  • Start your Christmas shopping early and plan to give additional copies to your relatives and friends.
