The Webmaster's Corner - Photo Galleries Live

As 2011 comes to a close, I am adding the final few features to the MWSA website before our "official" launch. Today, I added a link to the MWSA Photo Galleries from the Navigation menu. The gallery is where photos from many MWSA events will be posted. This feature will make it easier for people to locate photos: the albums will be organized by event name and date. 

You can also link from any MWSA Dispatches content to the photos in the gallery. The easiest way to do this is to open the photography gallery in a separate window or tab in your browser. Locate the image you want, click on the image, and then copy the web address (URL). You can then use the "Insert Media" feature in the Dispatches website text editor to insert the image. 

I know this will take some time to get used to, but it will make finding images and sharing them a little easier over time. 

I'm not sure who the photo editors will be, but I'm sure Joyce will let us all know. The photo editors (for now, "the" editor is Joyce) will upload the images, organize albums, and add descriptions to the database. If you have photos from MWSA events or related events, please let Joyce and the MWSA board members know. 

For the next few months, the MWSA website is not going to see major changes. We need to test it "as is" until May or June to decide if there are features we need and even if there are features we don't use. In the meantime, we will also be working to expand the website help and other online handbooks. As we answer user questions, the answers will become new pages in the online guides.
