THEY WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN

My name is Dane Kaimuloa, and I am a U.S. Army Veteran.

I started in 1984 out of high school joined the U.S. Navy and completed 4 years of active duty. But I had to get out in 1988, because my dad died and my mom was all alone. So I did navy reserve for a few years. I later joined the national guard in 2002 and went active in 2005. I was medically discharged with the U.S. Army in 2009.

What is an airstrike?

What is an airstrike?

In the "Newspeak" of today's media, released by DoD no less, an "airstrike" is what occurs when one air-delivered weapon detonates on the ground. Many of you familiar with the term "airstrike" consider them to be formations of aircraft, one or two dozen aircraft, acting in concert to hit a target or group of aimpoints. "Strike packages" consisting of dozens of "sorties" of individual aircraft are flown against assigned targets over the course of days or weeks.

George H. W. Bush homecoming

Welcome home George H. W. Bush Strike Group. I was in Virginia Beach last Saturday and saw the carrier offshore waiting for the tide, then enter the channel for her homecoming at Pier 12. Carrier Air Wing Eight had flown off the day before. Joyous photos of family reunions and well wishes on Facebook and text messages of congratulations on thousands of phones. Job well done, and we owe today's veterans our thanks and appreciation for fighting this away game for us.
