In Washington, an ambitious New York senator seeking presidential nomination capitalizes on the carnage and captures national media attention with harsh accusations and demands that lead to a missile strike on Yemen.
However, the official conclusion as to the bombers identity doesn’t seem right to analyst Casey Shenk, a Middle East expert with the geopolitical consulting firm Intelligence Watch Group. He and a New York City cop, both victims of the blast that tore apart a deli, buck official sanctions to find the true identity and motive for the terrorist attacks. Thus begins an intriguing fast-moving story with assassinations, political scheming, an unknown force powerful enough to block federal and NYC criminal investigators, and a myriad of twist and turns involving what Shenk calls “The Complicity Doctrine.” As Shenk and Detective Giordano probe deeper into the bombings, they and his IWC co-worker/girlfriend find themselves as targets of a clandestine effort to squelch the truth.
This book is an easy and entertaining read. The writer keeps his focus on a suspenseful story line and doesn’t dwell on unnecessary gory details or lengthy sidebars. Once you get past the setting of characters, “The Complicity Doctrine” picks up speed and captivates your attention until the end. I recommend it.
