WWII Battle of the Bulge KIA Info
Hello fellow members. I am looking for some help on researching information on my uncle who was killed in Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge. I have some information shown below.
His name was Frank Steve Evans.
Anyone that can offer any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. He is buried in the same cemetery where General George S. Patton is buried.
Basic information I have is:
TSGT or SSG (listed differently depending upon where I checked). He entered the Army Aug 16, 1940.Served at Fort Bragg, England, France, Belgium. He was KIA during the Battle of the Bulge. Numerous awards including Bronze Star (some sources say Silver Star, too).
I do not know his unit at the time of his death. He was either 82nd Airborne or 101st Airborne. He was a glider co-pilot. Info from family says he was run over by a German tank while trying to save a buddy. Any help would be great. My hope is to find someone who served with him , but I know that is a long shot since many of these veterans have long passed. Thanks, again.
