I encourage screenwriters and playwrights to use software tailored to these forms. While you can use Word or any other word processor, programs designed for scripts will save you hours of time and painful effort. Screenwriting requires one of the most specific formats of any form of professional writing. Stage writing is just as complicated, unfortunately.
