MWSA author earns fourth award
Bean Camp to Briar Patch-Life in the POW Camps of Korea and Vietnam was just announced as the winner in the history category by the 2014 Pacific Book Awards. This follows awards of Grand Prize winner in the 2013 Great Midwest Book Festival, Silver Medalist in the 2013 Stars and Flags Book Awards, and Finalist in the 2013 USA Best Book Awards. The book is the only single source for information on all the major POW camps holding Americans in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. There is much more to the story than the Hanoi Hilton. The book is available through Amazon and from the author at croninbooks.org.
Author John N. Powers is a Vietnam veteran, retired educator, historian for the North China Marines, and a recent returnee from Key West where he and his wife were able to get away from Wisconsin's winter for a week.
