 Author's Summary

2080 A.D., the United States is a “virtual” country where citizens live sealed inside millions of family-sized domes protected from the terrors of the Outside.  A betrothed couple is kidnapped from their home and for the first time is exposed to Nature and to Freedom while getting caught up in a multi-tribe Native American army’s war with Mexico.

MWSA Review

Domer is set in the near future. The population now lies under domes and the government takes care of all their needs. Essentially democracy has been replaced by a socialistic existence. The story revolves around a Domer couple that find themselves outside for the first time in their lives. Everything is new, some things dangerously so and to complicate matters an imminent war with Mexico is on the horizon.

In a unique twist the US is relying on Native Americans, who roam free outside the Domes to protect them. The author weaves the diverse cultures into a realistic story of interest to mystery/thriller readers and its time period would interest sci-fi readers as well.  Mr. Couzins background in law and computer technology, lend themselves to the Domers style of existence which relies on technology.

It is a unique approach that in some ways can be tied to present day political directions real or perceived. People have traded the dangers and uncertainties of freedom for the safety of what one would call a nanny state.
