K9 Heroes is a tribute to Military Working Dogs and, especially, to Sgt. Adam Cann and his dog, Bruno. In the pages of Arbelo's book we are introduced to the special relationship between handlers and their canine partners. K9 Heroes is clearly the story of one facet of military life and experience.  

Using the language of those interviewed, sometimes with quotation marks and sometimes without, sometimes with writer's comments and sometimes without, makes the stories believable. This is without a doubt a book about one aspect of military life from a non-military person who is passionate about her subject(s).
