PBS will be filming a piece about MWSA member Lillie Leonardi!

Former Community Affairs Coordinator with the FBI (Pittsburgh Division) Lillie Leonardi recently published a book about her experiences at the site of the crash of Flight 93 on 9-11. Entitled In The Shadow Of A Badge | A Spiritual Memoir, describes what she saw and/or heard leading up to and following 9-11 and the Flight 93 crash. The book also details her ongoing journey of personal healing and recovery from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) following her experiences that day.

Pierina Morelli, a 2011 multiple Emmy award winner, will produce a short film about Lillie Leonardi for PBS. Interviewing will take place throughout the next few weeks. 

Lilli has a long-standing relationship with the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh. Post 9/11, she served as the FBI representative to assist the Center in developing the Flight 93 exhibit and donated several pieces as well.  On Saturday February 18, 2012, the Heinz Center will conduct a flag folding ceremony in recognition of the returning military personnel. The ceremony will take place around 12:30 PM and provide an opportunity to show our troops how well they are appreciated. Immediately following the flag folding, Lillie will sign her book for the public.  WQED (local PBS network) will film the event.
