Author's Summary

Every RVer started out in a tent in the wilds of this great nation even if it was only in in their own backyard.  As RVers, we endure the difficulties of the camping and RVing because we love it and would have it no other way, regardless of the outcome.  Besides the worst camping and RVing experience is better than the best day at work!  Why do we do this?  Because we are RVers and we are nuts!

MWSA Review

Thomas Van Hees “YOU MIGHT BE AN RVer IF…” is a warm and entertaining journey through 40 years of RVing across the United States.  Van Hees’ uses humor to not just tell a traveler’s tale, but also to educate the reader on the finer points of owning a recreational vehicle.

I specifically appreciated the detail with which the author used to describe some of the more obscure points of RVing.  As an outsider to the lifestyle, it was both educational and interesting to hear the level of effort required in order to enjoy this particular brand of living.  I also enjoyed the “tips and tricks” chapter at the back of the book, as well as the “on the road” recipe section.

Van Hees doesn’t hold anything back as he details his many adventures.  Through the good and the bad (and there’s plenty of both!), the author takes the audience cross country with him on a non-stop ride of fun, family, and friends.  A definite must read for RV owners, or anyone interested in becoming an RV owner.  Fans of general travel books will enjoy this as well.
