Publishing 101: What Goes into the Pricing of a Book
Submitted by Dwight Zimmerman on February 16, 2012 - 12:24It’s come to my attention that some members have some misconceptions about the publishing industry and the roles of publishers, editors, agents, publicists, etc. Publishing is a business and as such it is geared to make money, ideally for all concerned. But it does have its quirks and can be frustrating and infuriating at times.

According to Dictionary.com an author is defined as: a person who writes a novel, poem, essay, etc.; the composer of a literary work, as distinguished from a compiler, translator, editor, or copyist. I see myself as the “editor,” be that as it may, a “copy editor" for those of you who like to make that distinction.
