Getting the most out of your membership

Hi everyone!I thought I would share some simple things you can do to maximize the opportunities and potential benefits of your membership.1) Log in and complete your profile.  Fill in the blanks.  Make sure the proper bubbles are tagged for interviews, speaking engagements, etc.

2) Use your MWSA blog to share announcements, awards, events, etc.

3) Use the MWSA calendar to share events.

4) Comment and post on the forums.  They are here for your benefit.  Do you have a great marketing tip you want to share - this is the place to do it!

5) VOLUNTEER - the more you put into the organization the strong it becomes and the more you get out of it!  We have endless ways to volunteer.  Reviewing books, helping with event planning, community outreach, helping with history preservation, running the registration desk at the conference, and much, much more!6) Mentor newer authors.7) Help our FB group develop stronger social skills (reduce the blatant sales and review bragging and replace it with discussions about those reviews and marketing strategies) so people will want to partiicpate in the discussions.8) Submit articles to our magazine!9) and on, and on, and on....  The more active and the more visible you are, the more widely recognized your name becomes.  When opportunities are presented to us for authors to participate in events, we can only search the data available to us.  If we can't see what city/state you live in - we can't add you to the list when someone wants authors in your area...  When someone contacts us looking for speakers, we can't recommend you if that box isn't checked.  So please... take a moment to log in and update your profile.  Make sure your dues are current.  Join in and participate.  *If you need help, please ask.  There are many who are more than willing to hlep you out.Thank you!!We're looking forward to seeing ALL of you in Dayton come September!!
