Southeast Asia has always been a mysterious and exotic place for most people of the Western European culture.The setting of Viper’s Tail takes place in Thailand and has its origins in WWII during the Japanese occupation of Southeast Asia.  Its conclusion happens in the deep canopied jungles of Thailand.

The book follows the life and times of Matt Chance whose background includes a mother of Thai origins and a father of the OSS persuasion.Chance’s timeline includes an American education and a stint as an Airborne Ranger officer in the Army.  With such a background we see a young man primed for an adventure in exotic Thailand.

Chance leaves the Army and relocates to live in Thailand where his mother resides.It is during this time frame that he becomes involved in covert operations directed by the CIA in Thailand.Old haunts and intrigues come into play as Chance follows the trail of old Japanese transgressions as he comes to discover the truths of what really happened in the Japanese occupation of Southeast Asia during WWII.

Matt Chance, an ex US Army Ranger living in Bangkok, finds himself drafted into the middle of a deadly plot involving right wing Japanese fanatics intent on punishing China for grievances going back to the end of WW II and the loss of Japan s preeminent position of global power. What he unravels is not only a threat to China but to the world.
