MWSA Review

MWSA Authors of the Month, September 2009

The final chapter in America's return to greatness.

Islamic terrorists destroyed five US cities in THE RINGS OF ALLAH.  In BEHOLD AN AHSEN HORSE President Alexander brings the US back from nuclear disaster and strikes hard, unleashing the full power of the US military and bringing vengeance upon those who struck her.  Now, in AMERICA REBORN, Alexander sets out  to finish what he began in ASHEN HORSE, the complete eradication of Islam from the world!

To accomplish this, he uses all the military forces at his disposal.  B-52s destroy Islamic strongholds from the air, while US Army Rangers bring the fight to the enemy.  As this unfolds, Alexander must deal with two domestic crises as well.  Liberal state governors challenge his authority and his military policies, while Mexican drug cartels attempt to invade the southern US.  Alexander uses his intellectual prowess and his military command authority in both cases as he pushes towards his vision of a safe, secure United States, free from terrorism and drug-related violence.

Lee Boyland does not disappoint in this, the third in his Clash of Civilizations trilogy.  Once again the action is fast and vivid, keeping the reader engaged and making this book difficult to put down.  Though more politically charged than either of the first two books, President Alexander's personality and character make even the non-military moments meaningful and enjoyable to the reader.  My favorite part of this book (and indeed the entire trilogy), is the way that, in addition to being extremely entertaining, it makes the reader think about political and military issues relevant to our current world order.   Overall, this book was an excellent close-out to a very well written and professionally done series.  Too bad it's only a trilogy!

Highly recommended by fans of the techno-thriller or military genre.
