 Author's Summary

When Jim West, a former Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, moves back to New Mexico, his goal is simple:  start an easy going second career as a professional lecturer on investigative techniques to colleges and civic organizations.  He never envisioned that his practical demonstration of forensic hypnosis on stage with a state university student would stir up memories of an 18 year old murder mystery. When the student is murdered three days later, West finds himself ensnared in a web of intrigue that pits him and the small town's authorities against a ruthless, psychotic killer.

MWSA Review

The small town in New Mexico is baffled by the recent murders of several local residents. Jim West showed up in the nick of time.  He arrived to solve the mysterious disappearance of a college student he stayed to help the sheriff solve the town's latest puzzling murders. A page turner for sure, I read this book in mere hours, a "cannot put down " book. In my opinion the writer grabs the reader at the very beginning and the reader cannot rest until the identity of the murderer is revealed. The graphic description of the slayer was realistic, I could picture him very clearly, not a person I would care to cross paths with. The book describes in great detail the beauty of the scenery it is believable from the beginning. The entire book is enjoyable. I normally do not choose murder mysteries for fear they will keep me awake at night, so I read this during the day and found it to be well written, the author should be proud of his achievement. I highly recommend this book to murder mystery fans, fans of who done it, or fans of Mr. Bob Doerr. I look forward to more adventures of Jim West and the writing of Bob Doerr.
