Military Mom Talk Radio and Sandra Beck welcome Joyce Faulkner's Author Corner

Every week we feature wonderful writers from Military Writer's Society of America, so if you haven't been on or you haven't been contacted, please email sandra@militarymomtalkradio.com for more information about how you can be a guest.

Greetings and Salutations...

Just a short note to say hello, and introduce myself.

My name's Edward Carpenter; call-sign is Carp, if you prefer that sort of thing. I'm a Marine Corps Major and a Foreign Area Officer, wrapping up 2 years in Indonesia and heading back to scenic Beaufort (Fightertown USA) this summer.

The son of a WWII Hump pilot, I started out as a Huey crew chief in the Army, then joined Uncle Sams Misguided Children as an officer, which has taken me to Japan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and a few points in between.

The Webmaster's Corner - Updates Behind the Scenes

I realize there are some features people would like and some changes we will try to implement this summer. However, our primary goal has been to test the site and keep it running for several months before "tinkering" too much with the complex programming. I know some of you have great ideas and I do hope to add new features as time permits.

Looking for Editor for MWSA Dispatches

Hi everyone,

As I prepare for the end of my term and stepping back to focus on my own writing more, it's time to start looking for someone be the MWSA Editor. The definition of this job is -- to select what goes into the magazine based on submissions from the membership and MWSA leadership, supervise copy editors and layout designers. Someone in this role should expect to spend about 6-8 hours a month on this activity. The MWSA Dispatches Editor will also receive buckaroos.

Experience in this role would be great...however, I'm willing to train someone as well.
