Temporary Suspension of Book Reviews

Due to a reorganization of the MWSA book review program, effective immediately no new books will be processed for reviews until January 15, 2016. All books currently in the system will be reviewed, though the turnaround time is going to be a little longer than normal.

I apologize for the inconvenience this will cause, but it is necessary in order to establish and work out the revised book review program to make it run smoothly. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Should you have any questions, you may contact me at: djonzimmerman@earthlink.net.

Relaunch of Dispatches!

I'm happy to announce the relaunch of the Dispatches magazine! Pat Avery has agreed to be the editor and past president Joyce Faulkner, who did such a great job with Dispatches in the past, will be the designer. The magazine will be on a quarterly schedule and will have 32 pages. Further details to follow. I urge members who want to have articles in the magazine to contact Pat on this. I want to thank Pat and Joyce for stepping forward on this as Dispatches is an important communications vehicle for the membership. Please give them your support.

Re-launch of Dispatches!

I know everyone has been wondering about the fate of our membership magazine, Dispatches. There have been a variety of issues that we've needed to work out. At this point I just want to give everyone a positive heads up that soon we'll see the re-launch of Dispatches. We're working out the details right now. Once everything's in place, you'll see a formal announcement.

Note from the President

Hello! A big workload awaited me upon my return from Dayton, but I I wanted to write this short note to let everyone know that I'm honored to be the new president of the Military Writers Society of America, succeeding Joyce Faulkner. Joyce has done a tremendous job and I'll be working hard to continue her legacy.

The 2012 MWSA conference in Dayton was a tremendous success. We've had a glitch in posting the list of book award winners, and for that I apologize. The list should be up later today.
